As a freelance artist, I have worked with publishers on cover art and interior
illustrations. I also prepare artwork for the individual on a "for hire" basis.
If you are a publisher reviewing this site and are interested in hiring me, I
understand that we will discuss your usual terms.
For those with an individual need, please be advised that my rates range as
follows:
$65 to $175 for color cover art
$65 to $150 for interior color illustration, per page, with a 50% discount on
the second page for a double-page spread (i.e., a single illustration that
covers a two-page spread)
$40 to $100 for an interior black and white illustration
Artwork is rendered in either acrylic paints, watercolors or generated using
a painting software program. Discussion with an individual regarding
requirements are included in the final cost. Any editing which may be
requested after issuance of the "final work" will be performed at the cost of
$50 per hour, and is not always feasible, so please be open and as detailed
as possible during the discussion stage.
All artwork remains the copyright property of the artist.
Rates are subject to change without notice, although not after negotiated
for a particular project.
